Syuura is currently recruiting QCers (who may also be asked to act as proofreaders). The criteria is as follows:

» Excellent knowledge of grammar and punctuation (both American English and British English)
» Ability to rephrase an Engrish sentence without changing the meaning to ensure that the translation/script flows fluently and consistently
» Good comprehension
» Attention to detail
» Ability to edit is not required (but would be a bonus), however QCers must be able to spot editing mistakes (e.g. leveling, text position in bubbles, specks, etc)
» Responsible - will inform me if they are busy with school/work/etc, and can't scanlate for a while and not just disappear without saying anything
» Dedicated & active -- willing to put in the necessary time and effort
» Easily contactable – IRC, MSN, frequents forum, e-mail
» Japanese knowledge not required but would be a bonus
» Age 16+ – preferred but not necessary if you can prove you’re competent
» Experience is preferred but not required

Note: All applicants are required to complete a QCing test.

The QC process is Syuura is as follows:
» QCers get sent the scanlation and make notes of the changes to be made in a .txt file
» The .txt file with the list of changes to be made gets sent to the editor who will then make the changes
» The fixed scanlation will then be sent back to the QCer again
» We usually do a minimum of 2 QCs per chapter though most of the time it ends up being 3 QCs per chapter
